This year's ABA Techshow is scheduled to take place from April 11-April 13, 2011 - less than one month away. Techshow is one of the largest legal technology conferences in the U.S., (if not the largest) and this year Techshow is celebrating its Silver Jubilee - its 25th year, and it has something for everyone, in every area of practice or any size firm.
If you have never had the opportunity to attend Techshow, you don't know what you're missing. It's an event I try to attend every year, and I always come back with great tips, new ideas and new business relationships.
Techshow is about bringing lawyers and technology together, but it's so much more than that. Get the inside scoop on new technology products, pick up tips for managing and marketing your practice, and find out about all kinds of tools to help with everything from time tracking to document and case management to communication and more. If you're not ready for new tools, there's plenty at Techshow to help you maximize what you're already using, whether that's Outlook, an iPad, a Blackberry, Word, etc.
If you want to get an idea of my experiences with Techshow over the years, take a look at these former posts:

You can also learn more about Techshow by listening to Rodney Dowell's most recent podcast on the Best Practice Tips Taken from Techshow Over the Years, with guests Jim Calloway and Laura Calloway (no relation), who share not only past Techshow tips, but also their predictions for this year's show.
A relative newcomer (this is its second year) to Techshow is Ignite Law, a pre-Techshow event which takes place on Sunday evening, April 10, immediately prior to the beginning of Techshow itself. Ignite Law's tagline is, "The future of law practice in six minute increments." The concept - six minute talks by industry luminaries about their predictions, comments or suggestions about the future of the practice.
Unfortunately, this year I won't arrive in time to see the Ignite Law presentations live, but if last year is any guideline, Ignite Law will be videotaping all of the presentations and not only simulcasting them, but making them available for future viewing.
Currently, there are 25 candidates with proposed talks for Ignite Law. You can vote for your favorites on the Ignite Law 2011 site. The final results will be announced next week (March 22). Vote for the talks you think would be most valuable even if you can't attend!
Even if you can't attend Techshow, you can get great tips by following Techshow tweets (#abatechshow) or tune in to the Techshow blog. Of course, you can always watch this space for more information and my take on Techshow, follow me on Twitter (@allisonshields) or follow many of the others blogging and tweeting about the show.
But really, there's nothing like being there...
