Allison - I do try to obtain client testimonials to post on the website. One reason is because SEO likes fresh content and this is one way to post new content on the home page and on the attorney's bio page. I have been most successful getting good testimonials by using the following technique:

I send out a survey at the completion of an engagement. When I get the survey back and they took the time to write a comment in addition to using my number ranking, I call to request a testimonial to add to the website.
