Emergency plans
Do you have a backup plan for your practice? What kind of plans do you have for an emergency to make sure your important information isn’t lost? Do you know how to get your hands on your most important information in a hurry, in case of an emergency evacuation? If something happens to your office, do you have a way to recover your information? Recent disasters have brought this issue to the forefront, but natural disasters may not be the only problem – a computer crash or computer virus could destroy or prevent access to your client information and other data files.
For those of you who have no backup plan, or what you think is a poor backup plan, Jim Calloway recently wrote an article for the Oklahoma Bar Journal that’s worth looking at here. Although Jim also points out the shortcomings of this plan, it’s certainly better than starting from scratch!
