[infographic] Law Firm Website Mistakes

MyCase has put together an infographic representing some common mistakes with lawyer websites, particularly when those websites are created or maintained by the lawyers themselves. These include problems with design, SEO, lack of mobile optimization, and inability to track the effectiveness of their sites:
Of course, these aren’t the only problems lawyers encounter with their websites. Once a visitor (whether that visitor is a potential client, referral source, a member of the media, or a strategic alliance) arrives on your site, you want them to have a good experience. Your website needs to deliver the information they need.
Some time ago, I did a post for Slaw on website usability that is a good companion to this infographic. It touches on ways you can capture and keep the attention of your web visitors by using images and graphics, layout and text, and by making your website content more appealing to visitors by doing things like:
- Using headers
- Placing important content in a prominent location
- Employing callouts
- Keeping language simple
- Incorporating bullet points
And now that more and more people are using smartphones and tablets, it’s even more important to make sure that your website is mobile-friendly for your web visitors.
Is it time for you to take a look at your law firm’s website with fresh eyes?
